This is something that @Meanski probably knows since Slash has already done this in past ladders.
My server is currently running 0% nodrop in players 1 to 8 and I'd like to change the superchest drop rates (from Lower Kurast only) to vanilla drops (62.5% nodrop) in players 1 to 5, is this possible or any other way to reduce the drop rates?
You can't edit the players1-5 thing, it is a blanket % which then scales. Unfortunately, that is just how the Patch MPQ is done.
In terms of editing for LK, you will need to find the 'super chest' lines and test which ones are assigned to A3, from memory we had just lowered everything for superchests. Honestly, I don't know if that change actually worked as we didn't get time to fully test it. I'm pretty busy for the rest of the week but if you want help testing in the weekend, let me know.
Any idea what percentage I need to write to reduce the drop on superchests approximately in half?
For me it would be ideal to only reduce drops from LK superchests and not all together from A3 because of mephisto superchest in Durance 3. If I can't find specifically the Lk chest I might have to just give up

With what % did you try using to nerf A3 last ladder?
I did some testing and I couldn't find specific lines for A3 superchests but lines for all chests in A3. That means that the drop changes equally for superchests and normal chests
Sadly, the super chests don't use loot tables, they are hard coded.
