Re: Join/game

I'm not sure how to set "maxgames" for your server in Unix but it sounds like that what you need to do. Can you confirm you also have d2gs service , d2dbs and d2cs running and pvpgn server running as well to create a fully running server. If you don't need to use unix then I wouldn't.

Edit: since I can't set max games via a registry entry...you might have to telnet into your server and set max games that way.

In addition, you can connect.to server, make character, but you are "in line to create a game" or what exactly is happening

d2gs is required to run. I'd take a look at some guides on this website to get you started. And this is 100 percent eaiser on a windows box. You need a total of 4 services running in order to have a successfully running battle.net server. D2cs.exe, d2gs.exe ( running as a service....  Run: "d2svc.exe -i" in d2gs dir as admin cmd to install ), pvpgn.exe, and d2cs.exe. You also need to edit the .conf files for these 4 servers as well so they can all communicate. Also..don't use loop back address when binding server to a socket.

Re: Join/game

I read this guides to and as i say d2gs is for closed bnet look her.
What is a Diablo II Closed Server?

A Diablo II Closed Server means that your character is stored on the PvPGN server just like the real Battle.net (TM). This requires D2CS, D2DBS & D2GS to be running in addition to PvPGN on the server side. It has several advantages & disadvantages as well.

What is a Diablo II Open Server?

A Diablo II Open Server means that your character is not stored on PvPGN like on the real Battle.net (TM). When you play on Battle.net (TM), your player is stored on their server. In Open Battle.net (TM) game play, your character is stored on your local computer instead. This only requires PvPGN to be running on the server side. It has several advantages & disadvantages

I thing your missunderstand something

ok, yes I misunderstood you. Couldn't you just play a tcp/ IP game at that point?

Re: Join/game

Hm strange now i dont even can startup my server xd i dont change antything.
I get from blizzard battle.net gate editor connection failed msg
i can connect with tcp/ip its the same ip i test it with the router ip next.
If i use my intern ip that i see on my diablo window it works but not for the router ip.
I thing its somthing with the ports  the only portsi use on my windows that are open 4000tcp/udp 6112 tcp/udp <---- this two ports are needed to even host are game on windows
16112 this port is used on my regedit as Game data port and on my router
