Topic: Change the date of the News...
Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how to change the date that appears above the News right after login. It always shows the same date from 2016...

The file that sets this date is the "news.txt". This file is located in:"/pvpgn/i18n"
An example of my setup.

Man, you've been very helpful. I'm going to test this later and see if it works. My 'news.txt" is in a different location as I'm using a different version of PvPGN than you are, probably. Is there a way I can reload/refresh the news.txt from PvPGN console while the server is running? Thanks, again!

Yeap, use the command:
/rehash <mode>
# Forces the server to reload specified config. Set "all" to reload all configs.
# <mode> = all | i18n | channels | realms | autoupdate | news | versioncheck | ipbans | helpfile | banners | tracker | commandgroups | aliasfile | transfile | tournament | icons | anongame | topiclist | lua

Excellent. Thank you, Feofilaktt. Exactly what I was looking for. I tested it and it's working.

You can also change the colours of the news output by hex editing, if you feel comfortable with that

Funny you should mention it. I was just wondering about that the other day. Found a few threads here discussing it. I’ll probably give it shot...
Feel free to ask any questions in here.
As for your version as you mentioned above - any reason to be using an older one? There are some great features on the new ones

To be honest, this is the only version I could find that has an .exe installer. Compiling builds is not something I’ve done yet. I don’t even think have the necessary software to try it. I’m in a rural area and get a 70 kbps download speed... it’s a wonder I can host a Diablo II server at all, even with a user base of just 5 people.
