Greetings,
Running D2GS on Windows and all is well except for one thing.
Randomly you will get "Failed to Join" maybe 1 in 5-10 games, especially if joining a new one too quickly (of course, this mimics the original experience as everyone knows this is a real thing on Battle.net since the beginning).
My question is there any setting that can help alleviate this happening or is this just the nature of the ancient software?

This is an old problem, unfortunately it can only be fixed by finding the problem and recompiling the source code of the d2gs you are using.

Has this been done by someone to date? I don't suppose if someone did fix it, they've released the fix.

Officially, a fix for this has not been released.
Note that after D2GS 1.13c - Build 3 on March 31, 2010, nothing was fixed or shared in the official sources.
There are some developers who can do it, but it is not an easy task, few have the motivation to do it.
